Here I pretend to know what I'm talking about, showing off my old man's Colt .45. Now with annotations to correct my stupid mistakes. READ the comments before posting for the n-th time about improper loading and dry firing, replica or not, etc! If you are rehashing an old idea, your comment won't post.

Just to be safe, get in the habit of doing the "cowboy load" or " John Wayne load" as it's sometimes called. This means to load one, skip one, load four. So when the cylinder makes its full rotation the hammer will rest on a empty camber making it safe to carry.

ALWAYS KEEP THE HAMMER DOWN ON AN EMPTY CHAMBER WITH ANY TRADITIONAL SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE AND DEATH.

the colt S.A.A. 45 has to be one of the best looking guns ever made.

It's good to own a gun; I love guns. A gun is a self-reliant tool you use to feed and defend yourself. You can also do some target practice with it to hone your gun skills.

Nice gun.. very good history.behind.the.design.. and its alot.older.than just 100yrs. The colt1911 is 100 yrs.old and thats a gas operated semi auto magazine fed pistol so this colt cownoy style single.action pistol has alot.more years. Of design use but yes great.gun
