you never mentioned volatility priced into the strangle as if options are too expensive for OTM options then even if it moves the volatility decay can offset any gain in the long strangle(this happens when puts are really expensive ).Also you can look at cost of buying an ATM strangle to see what market makers are pricing in for % move & then measure the cost of buying that OTM strangle to see if the costs of OTM strangle makes sense vs the move expected in the ATM strangle
